UC Merced is hosting an event for high school girl athletes. When and what to know

High school female athletes looking to get information on leadership, nutrition, mental health and goal-setting are invited to attend a free one-day conference at UC Merced.

The “Together We Will” conference will be held March 8 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the university campus.

The event is a “pioneering conference created to uplift and empower female high school student-athletes through connection and inspiration,” the event’s website says.

Among the scheduled guest speakers are Victoria Garrick Browne, a mental health advocate, and Danielle Slaton, a former professional soccer player. Slaton is a San Jose native and co-founder of Bay FC, a franchise in the National Women’s Soccer League.

The event is free for students, and lunch will be provided. Advance registration is required.

Students can sign up for the event at engage.ucmerced.edu.
