Here are the Merced Allstate Athletes of the Week for Oct. 6-Oct. 13, 2013.

Ben Peterson

School: Atwater

Sport: Water Polo

Class: Senior

Position: Hole-Set

The Week: Peterson scored the game-tying goal with just over 2 seconds left to send the Falcons into overtime against Merced. He eventually finished with five goals and nine assists in Atwater's 16-15 win. Peterson also scored 13 goals in a win over Turlock earlier in the week.

Savanna Barnett

School: Le Grand

Sport: Volleyball

Class: Senior

Position: Middleblocker

The Week: Barnett turned in a monster performance in a 3-1 win over Gustine with 24 kills and six blocks. She added 16 kills in a three-game sweep of Delhi later in the week to help the Bulldogs remain in Southern League title contention.
