Turlock football routs Atwater

Bubba Moreno threw two touchdowns and Brandon Booz added two touchdown runs as Turlock High routed Atwater 56-7 on Friday night at Joe Debely Stadium.

Booz scored on touchdown runs of 2 and 6 yards.

Moreno connected with Danny Velasquez for a 36-yard touchdown pass and later found Jacob Mabie for a 13-yard strike to go up 35-7 at the half.

Turlock improved to 4-4 overall and 3-0 in the Central California Conference to set up a Halloween showdown with Merced for the conference title.

Atwater quarterback Frank Cocio found Nathaniel Gilmore for a 13-yard touchdown pass for the Falcons’ lone score.

Atwater dropped to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the CCC.

▪ Pitman 27, Golden Valley 0 in Golden Valley – The Pride’s Ryan Yniquez scored two first-half touchdowns as Pitman cruised to a win at Veterans Stadium.

Yniquez gave Pitam (6-1, 2-1) a 14-0 lead with a 25-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and a 4-yard run with 8:39 left in the first half.

Donovan Bravo added field goals of 26 and 39 yards to extend the lead to 20-0 in the third quarter. Quentin Hernandez added an 8-yard run for the final score.

▪ Le Grand 28, Orestimba 14 in Le Grand – Christian Williams scored three touchdowns for the Bulldogs (6-2, 5-0 Southern League).

▪ Mariposa 22, Gustine 19 in at Mariposa – The Grizzlies kept pace with Le Grand atop the Southern League standings.

▪ Chowchilla 66, Yosemite 7 in Chowchilla – A.J. Stewart and Danny Chavez each had two rushing touchodwns for the Redskins (6-2, 3-0 NSL).
