Stone Ridge Christian headed back to Division VII football title game
Stone Ridge Christian extended its shutout streak to nine games and will play for a second straight Sac-Joaquin Section championship after defeating Millennium 66-0 on Friday night in the Division VII semifinals at Castle Field.
Shane Casillas rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Jonathan Collazo had 105 yards on the ground and one touchdown, and fullback Austin Rees scored twice and rushed for 75 yards.
Quarterback Russell Postmus also threw two touchdown passes, connecting with tight end Mark Hooker and Austin Houweling.
The Knights (10-1) will face Big Valley Christian (10-2), which Stone Ridge defeated 37-0 earlier this season, in the title game Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lincoln High in Stockton.
Bradshaw Christian 55, Gustine 13 in Sacramento – The Redskins (10-2) got touchdowns from Brandon LaBry and Fabian Morales but couldn’t slow the Pride.
Bradshaw Christian will face Hilmar in the Division VI championship Saturday at 6 p.m. at Lincoln High in Stockton.
Chowchilla 27, Madera South 20 in Chowchilla – Alex Gutierrez’s four-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter helped the Redskins seal a Central Section Division IV quarterfinal win. Gutierrez extended the lead to 27-20 with 1:52 left, and the Redskins’ defense held.
Anthony Stewart scored two first-half touchdowns for Chowchilla (9-2), which jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the second quarter.
Madera South got back into the game behind Jacob Kirkpatrick, who caught eight passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Kirkpatrick’s 41-yard touchdown catch on a pass from Jonah Johnson cut Chowchilla’s lead to 21-20 in the third quarter.
The Redskins will host No. 9 Kerman, which upset top seed Central Valley Christian 21-14, on Friday at 7 p.m. in the semifinals.
Dos Palos 22, Firebaugh 18 in Dos Palos – The Broncos advanced to the Central Section Division V semifinals, defeating the Eagles in a nail-biter for the second time this season.
Third-seeded Dos Palos overcame an 18-9 deficit in the second half as Rodney Miller hauled in a 35-yard touchdown pass from Ozzie Suarez and Adrian Marrufo broke free for a 64-yard touchdown run to give the Broncos (7-4) a 22-18 lead in the third quarter.
The Broncos will host No. 7 Mendota on Friday at 7 p.m. Mendota upset No. 2 seed Fowler 24-7.
