Update on big series
Every week, I receive information on Wednesday’s Commercial Classic league. A week ago, the secretary’s league newsletter had Bryan Rivas with games of 257-279-267 for a super 803 series. The league sheet I received had 257-279-261 for a 797. I didn’t know about the mistake until staff member Lew Reese, who updates the scoring board, said the board showed Rivas with a 797. Still a great series.
Neill Barcellos rolled another perfect game in the Tuesday night Guys & Dolls. In the 10th frame, he had Brooklyns on his last three strikes. In the Monday Night Merchants, Laura Ruell, with a 166 average, rolled a 205 game.

McHenry turkey shoot
A packed house of senior bowlers were shooting for 30 turkeys at McHenry Bowl’s annual Turkey Shoot on Friday in Modesto. You had to roll a strike in certain frames to win a bird. We had several locals taking home a few turkeys and bucks. Bringing home a gobbler were T.J. Jensen, Carol Almeida, Larry Valenti Sr. and yours truly, which gave me three years in a row with a bird. In the money with high games and series were Deanna Knapp, Almeida and yours truly.
