Fans of Timothy Olyphant can look forward to a pair of upcoming streaming shows with the Beyer High School grad in the casts.
The Modesto-reared and Emmy-nominated actor will be in Peacock’s “Five-Star Weekend” and Apple TV’s “Lucky,” according to IMDB.com.
“Five-Star Weekend” will star Jennifer Garner as Hollis Shaw, “a famed food influencer known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor (who) suffers a devastating loss,” according to a story on Variety.com.
Olyphant will play the role of Jack in a cast that also includes Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan and D’Arcy Carden.
“In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth star,” the story says.
“Five-Star Weekend” is based on a book by Elin Hilderbrand
No premiere date for the limited series is listed.
Second planned show for the actor
Olyphant also is slated to star with Anya Taylor-Joy in “Lucky,” another limited drama series coming to Apple TV, according to Deadline.com.
“Lucky follows a young woman (Taylor-Joy) who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago and now embraces her darker criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past,” the Deadline story says.
Olyphant plays John, Lucky’s father. Annette Bening also is in the cast. “Lucky” also is based on a novel, this one by Marissa Stapley.
The Apple TV show is listed as “coming soon” in 2026, according the streamer’s website.
Olyphant, who has family in Modesto, has two Emmy nominations: lead actor in a drama series in 2011 for his role in “Justified” and guest actor in a drama series in 2021 for “The Mandalorian.”
The actor has family in Modesto and does visit, but “according to my mother, not as often as I should,” he said in a 2023 story in The Bee.
