Puppy Who Dreams of Herding Sheep Someday Is Melting Hearts
Dream big, little guy! People can't get over the sweetest little puppy on the internet. The tiny guy was all over the sheep he was watching. It was like he wanted to herd them, but he's just a little too small. Still, there's no harm in having a wish. And now people online are seriously hoping the dog gets what his heart desires.
He's so very close to getting exactly what he wants. One day, I just know the pup will be the best herding dog ever.

This is planting the herding dog seed early. Today, the Collie puppy is merely looking at the sheep he so desperately wants to herd. But one day he'll be out there with his buddies. What a great day that will be!

For now, the puppy is happy to just practice his herding skills. He's starting out by greeting the sheep, just to get them used to his presence. He was so patient with them! It was like he was in awe of the animals and we can't blame him one bit. They're so adorable. I could watch them all day.
Commenters were positively smitten with the little dog.
"It's like meeting your coworkers before you officially start the job," wrote one commenter.
"Puppy wants so badly to herd those sheep. So cute! They're born with that instinct," chimed in another commenter.
"Lil' puppy like ‘hey ya'll know where you supposed to be going… cause I think I'm actually supposed to tell you where to go,'" another person teased.
"Well that just turned the cuteness up to one million," added another commenter.
Best Dogs for Herding Sheep
This puppy is ready for the big time, but what about other dogs? There are lots of dog breeds out there, but only some of them are right for herding other animals.
Common herding dogs are Australian Cattle Dogs, Australian Shepherds, Bearded Collies, and Border Collies. Icelandic Sheepdogs, Old English Sheepdogs, and Shetland Sheepdogs are good options too.
Any of these dogs would make great herding dogs. The instinct runs so deeply, they might try and herd you! But that's why getting one of these puppers is so much fun!
