Max Homa Makes Major Change After Missing PGA Championship Cut
The 2026 PGA Tour season has been anything but kind to Max Homa, who at one point in his career was the No. 5 player in the world.
He now enters the Charles Schwab Challenge at No. 123 in the world and at No. 74 in the FedEx Cup Standings - on the outside of a playoff spot looking in. With so much at stake midway through the season, Homa is making another change.
Max Homa Changing His Caddie Again
The six-time PGA Tour winner split with veteran caddie Lance Bennett following a missed cut at the PGA Championship, according to a report from Adam Schupak.
He revealed Homa is expected to have Peter Pappageorge, a friend who registered as his caddie on Wednesday, on the bag this week at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Bennett previously caddied for Tiger Woods in 2024 before he was sidelined by injury. He later joined Homa nearly a year ago at the RBC Canadian Open after Homa parted ways with Bill Harke.
Max Homa Went Through Public Caddie Breakup
Ahead of the Masters in 2025, Homa revealed his longtime caddie and close friend Joe Greiner decided to drop him before the first major tournament of the year.
"It was not my choice, so it sucked, but we always had a deal that we're friends first and friendship mattered more than the work thing, and he was wise enough to do what he did," Homa said at the time.
"It's hard. I'm just so used to him caddying. And even just on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays, you just have this easy rhythm. But I was happy that he did it, because I would rather – you know, at the end of my days we continue to be great friends than one of us resent the other for how hard this game can be on a relationship. So, it sucks because I just pictured always walking fairways with Joe. But again, that was not the deal. I would rather walk life with Joe forever than this dumb game."
Homa has just one top 10 on the season, which came at the Masters in April. He has just one other top 20 finish on the season and has missed the cut in four tournaments – including at the PGA Championship earlier this month.
