New 'The Duskbloods' Trailer Revealed at Nintendo Direct, But There's a Catch

The Duskbloods is the next major title from acclaimed developer FromSoftware, best known for the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, but until today's Nintendo Direct, fans only got one brief trailer a year ago. Now, new footage has been revealed, but there are still a ton of questions about the game.

Revealed during the Nintendo Direct livestream (and later uploaded as a standalone trailer by Nintendo of America), the roughly one minute trailer demonstrated some new areas, like the blood moon, and a new look at some of the playable characters, but other than that, there was only one big announcement for the game.

The end of the trailer confirms that a closed network test is coming "this summer," but no other details were revealed.

The Duskbloods is still slated for a 2026 release, and with the network test taking place this summer and the stacked lineup of games in September, including Nintendo's own Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, The Duskbloods is likely aiming for an October release.

However, the biggest mystery of the game remains: what does this game play like? There has been zero gameplay footage revealed for this game up to this point. The game has been described as a PvPvE multiplayer experience.

According to the official YouTube description written on the YouTube trailer page, "The Duskbloods launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, with a closed network test coming soon. Step into this new PvPvE multiplayer action game from FromSoftware, where you take on the role of a Bloodsworn. Fight through a world overrun with enemies using unique weapons and abilities, while occasionally forming transient alliances on your path to victory."

Other than that, the game's contents have yet to be revealed. Luckily, fans won't have too much longer to wait to find out, with the closed network test beginning very soon, but no specific information about the network test has been revealed yet.

The Duskbloods is in development exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 and is releasing sometime in 2026.
