Having a toddler at home is a full-time job. Introducing a new puppy to the family takes a lot of energy. Put those two events together, and you've got a superstorm of cuteness and hijinks.

Beau Nose Bones is a YouTube channel for a young family with two dogs and a toddler. The couple's son is old enough to walk, which means he can get into mischief, and they recently added a new puppy to the mix. Their golden retriever Beau, for whom the channel is named, can only look out for so much!

In this recent clip, we watch as dad gets up early and prepares for the puppy to enter the scene. So far, the puppy sleeps in mom and dad's room and then runs into his own adorable play pen to start the day. Dad usually opens the gate so the puppy can run in without issue, but baby boy has other plans.

"When you make sure the play pen is open so this doesn't happen," the video caption reads, and we watch from the home's security cameras as Dad opens the play pen, as usual.

He lets the little pup out of his kennel cage, and he rushes out with a big burst of greet-the-day energy. He's so cute, skidding on his paws around corners and wagging his bushy little tail, but when he lunges toward the play pen, the door is suddenly closed!

The puppy gives a good-natured crash but doesn't appear to be upset or hurt, thank goodness. Then it's off to the security camera footage to see what the heck happened.

Uh oh! The toddler saw an open door and went to close it, maybe because his mom and dad have taught him to be tidy. Or maybe he's being a little prankster?

"To be honest, it's valid. He's probably been taught to close the doors in the house," one commenter gives the child the benefit of the doubt.

"He closed that door like 'I'm tired of y'all letting all my AC out dagnabbit running up my electricity bill,'" another commenter jokes.

"Pretty sure he's probably left it open a couple times before and got told by his parents never to leave it open or the puppy will get loose," another says.

"Proper Looney Tunes stuff," another adds, and we agree!

Why Give Puppies a Play Pen?

This poor kid didn't know he did something wrong-or at least, that's what we're choosing to believe-but why does this adorable puppy even need a play pen?

Enclosed play structures are great for new pups because they give these little learners a secure place to play and explore, without needing a constant watchful eye to ensure they don't get into something dangerous or accidentally hurt themselves.

Puppies are very rambunctious and curious by nature. Giving them toys in their own area gives them a sense of security and space to tear up the place, should they want to, without damaging any of the home's furniture. This also helps them from developing the bad habit of getting into things they shouldn't.

It's also important to give your puppy that alone time to learn how to play on their own. A sense of independence is good for a pup, even when they can see and hear the family in the home and the living spaces around them. They want to be with the pack, of course, but they also gain confidence from exploring their own territory.

We're sure the puppy and toddler get into enough antics on their own!
