Tom Hardy Quietly Ends Weeks of 'MobLand' Season 3 Drama
Fans of MobLand can finally breathe a little easier.
According to Deadline, Tom Hardy is expected to return if MobLand moves forward with a third season, ending weeks of speculation that the actor had exited the hit crime drama following reported behind-the-scenes tensions.
As Deadlinepreviously reported in May, Hardy's future with the series appeared uncertain after reports claimed he had clashed during production on Season 2. Multiple outlets reported at the time that the Oscar-nominated actor would not return if the series earned another season, despite serving as the face of Paramount+'s breakout crime hit.
The New Report That Changes Everything for Season 3
Now, Entertainment Weekly reports those issues have been resolved.
According to the outlet, conversations between Hardy, showrunner Jez Butterworth and executive producer David Glasser helped smooth over the situation, while director and executive producer Guy Ritchie also played an important role in bringing everyone back together.
EW reports Hardy is now expected to reprise his role as Harry Da Souza if MobLand receives a Season 3 renewal.
The outlet also reports that Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan are expected to remain with the series, keeping the show's core cast intact if another season moves forward.
Why Fans Still Have One Big Reason to Stay Patient
There is one important catch: Paramount+ has not officially renewed MobLand for a third season.
While Deadline reports that Hardy's return is expected if the series moves forward, the streamer has yet to announce whether another season has been ordered.
Even so, the latest update is likely welcome news for fans. Hardy's performance as Harry Da Souza quickly became one of the biggest reasons viewers tuned in, helping MobLand become one of Paramount+'s biggest original series.
For now, viewers are still waiting on an official Season 3 renewal. But if Paramount+ gives the green light, Deadline reports that MobLand's biggest star is expected to be back.
