Halloween story time

Halloween-themed storytime for preschoolers at the Merced Library, 2100 O St. in Merced, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. today. Children may come dressed in their costumes. Storytime helps instill a love of books. For more information, call the Merced Library at (209) 385-7484.

Evening of Elegance

Christian Radio Station 101.5 KAMB will host an “Evening of Elegance and Entertainment” at the Merced Theatre at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 with appetizers and performances. Leading acts include “Faith, Hope and Love with Annette Macias, Jenni Samulson and Monica Van Houten. The evening also includes a short, live auction with items like a custom made grill on wheels, a flight over your home or ranch, golf and vacation packages and more. Tickets are $75 each, available at celebrationradio.com or www.mercedtheatre.org. All proceeds go to support our local, Christian Radio Station 101.5 KAMB.

College slide show

A slide show presentation of 2015 tours by Merced College Community Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at 630 W. 19th St. The presentation is free and open to the public. Attendees will have a chance to learn more about the tours being offered in 2015-16 and ask questions. Refreshments will be served. Feel free to bring a friend. Atwater High Haunted House

Atwater High Performing Arts will present their Haunted House and Fun House, 2201 Fruitland Ave. in Atwater. The haunted house is open 6 to 11 tonight and Saturday. Adults $5; kids $3.

Post-Halloween Sweet Swap

The office of dentist Von Goodin will have a Halloween candy “Sweet Swap” 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 830 W. Olive Avenue. Children can donate leftover Halloween candy to be distributed in care packages to military personnel through Operation Gratitude. Kids will earn raffle tickets for prizes. Trunk N’ Treat

This Ain’t Your Mama’s Church will hold its 9th Annual Trunk N’ Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The church is at 1405 W. Main St. The community is invited to come out for a safe alternative to Halloween. For more information visit www.bikerchurch.org or call (209) 726-6123.

Noah’s Ark Festival

A Noah’s Ark Festival is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at Merced Christian School, 3312 North G St. The event will include food, carnival games an activities. Advance tickets can be purchased at the school office.

Mental Health Board meetings

The Merced County Mental Health Board Mental Health Board meets the first Tuesday of every month from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1137 "B" Street, Merced. Everyone is invited to attend.

Vets holiday bazaar

The American Legion Post 83 Merced will host its second annual Fall Holiday Fair Bazaar featuring crafts and antiques 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Vendors must apply by Oct. 31. Booths are 10-by-10 feet for a $65 tax-deductible donation (both days). The fundraiser benefits local veterans’ needs and the preservation of the historic Veterans Memorial Building.
