Coroner identifies pedestrian struck and killed on Yosemite Parkway in Merced
The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office has identified a pedestrian struck and killed on Yosemite Parkway in Merced on Friday, as 44-year-old Ramon Tristan of Merced, according to Deputy Daryl Allen.
According to the Merced Police Department, officers responded to the collision at about 5:42 p.m. in the area of Yosemite Parkway and Almond Avenue. Authorities said Tristan was crossing Yosemite Parkway with a dog when they were struck by a Ford Focus that was driven by a 20-year-old woman.
Tristan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the driver cooperated with officers and neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been a factor in the collision.
