Memorial celebrating Merced music legend Roddy Jackson postponed due to weather
The celebration of life scheduled for legendary Merced musician Roddy Jackson scheduled for Saturday has been postponed due to inclement weather, according to family.
The event was going to be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 83, 939 W. Main St. in Merced.
Jackson died at age 80 last month from complications following surgery. Jackson was a musical prodigy who co-wrote a song covered by The Animals and The Rolling Stones.
No new date for the ceremony has been announced yet.
