New restaurant to bring ‘bowls of awesomeness’ to Merced. See where it will open
From new restaurants and coffee shops to dessert destinations, Merced’s business scene continues to grow.
As several highly anticipated businesses prepare to open their doors, another restaurant chain is making plans to join the city’s growing dining scene.
According to the city of Merced’s building permits website, Teriyaki Madness plans to open a new location in Merced, adding another fast-casual dining option for local residents.
Here’s what we know so far:
What is Teriyaki Madness?
Teriyaki Madness is an Asian-inspired restaurant chain known for its customizable Seattle-style teriyaki bowls.
The company is headquartered in Denver, but traces its roots to Las Vegas, where the first restaurant opened in 2003. The brand began franchising in 2005 and has since expanded to locations in more than 40 states.
In California, Teriyaki Madness operates restaurants in Modesto, Fresno and the Sacramento area, along other communities.
“Teriyaki Madness is committed to unconditionally satisfying guests by offering delicious, made-to-order teriyaki dishes prepared with all natural, fresh ingredients that are served quickly, at a reasonable price in a fun and relaxed atmosphere,” the company said on its website.
What’s on the menu at Teriyaki Madness?
Teriyaki Madness plans to bring its signature “huge bowls of awesomeness” to Merced.
The menu features made-to-order bowls with options such as chicken, steak, salmon and tofu. Customers can customize their meals with white rice, brown rice, noodles or fresh vegetables.
The menu also includes appetizers such as egg rolls, crab rangoon and chicken pot stickers, along with a variety of sauces that allow diners to tailor each bowl to their tastes.
Sauce options include popular favorites such as gyoza sauce, katsu sauce and sweet and sour sauce.
Where will Teriyaki Madness open in Merced?
According to the city’s building permits website, Teriyaki Madness is slated to open at 3040 Park Ave., Suite E3, in Merced.
The restaurant will take over the former Saigon Pho and Sandwiches space in a shopping center that includes businesses Bagel Tyme and Domino’s.
