Los Banos property dispute leads to stabbing, arrest
An argument over property ended Monday in Los Banos when one woman stabbed another woman at a J Street motel, the Police Department reported.
The victim, a 36-year-old woman, suffered lacerations to her arm. She was taken to a Modesto hospital and was said to be in stable condition, according to police.
Amanda Burgess, 30, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, officers said.
Officers responded at 9:17 a.m. to reports of a stabbing at a motel in the 900 block of J Street.
The dispute began when Burgess and the victim were arguing over property while in the parking lot of the motel, police said.
Burgess was booked into the Los Banos Police Department jail with bail set at $30,000.
