Admitted cocaine addict arrested for drug sales, gun possession, Merced police say

A 29-year suspect was arrested on suspicion of narcotics sales and possession of a firearm in Merced on Thursday morning, according to police.

The Merced Police Gang Violence Suppression Unit served a search warrant in the 3300 block of Bridalveil Court in Merced at 10:20 a.m.. During the search, officers located approximately 22 grams of cocaine and a handgun.

According to police, suspect Braden Price admitted to officers that he uses cocaine every day. Price’s self-admission of his addiction to cocaine prohibits him from possessing a firearm under state law.

Price was booked into the Merced County Jail.
