NASCAR fans can’t attend the Coca-Cola 600. Here’s how to refund or exchange your tickets
Every year for nearly six decades, the Coca-Cola 600 race has been held on the same Memorial Day weekend, and this year will be no exception despite the global coronavirus pandemic that forced the NASCAR season to a halt for two months.
This year’s race, however, will be run without fans.
Thursday, NASCAR announced an updated schedule that includes the Coca-Cola 600 running May 24 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, as well as seven other races that make up for postponed events — none of which fans are permitted to attend.
NASCAR has not yet announced if or when fans may be able to attend races later in the season.
Fans who have already purchased tickets for the Coca-Cola 600 will have multiple options, according to Charlotte Motor Speedway. Fans have the option to exchange their tickets for the full value plus an additional 20 percent credit at Charlotte Motor Speedway or any other track owned and operated by Speedway Motorsports, LLC. That includes tracks at Atlanta, Bristol, Kentucky, Las Vegas, New Hampshire, Sonoma and Texas. The 120 percent credit can be applied to events during the 2020 or 2021 season.
Tickets may also be refunded for their full value, according to the speedway.
The ticketing exchange policy for the Coca-Cola 600 is the same one in place for races postponed earlier this year at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.
For more ticket information, fans should visit the Charlotte Motor Speedway website, where they will be directed to fill out an online form in order to speak with a ticketing agent.
