Police seek help from witnesses, others among public in Los Banos gas station shooting

In the wake of a shooting this week at a Los Banos gas station, the Police Department there is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest and providing other information on the incident

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at the Circle K gas station at 1704 E. Pacheco Blvd. at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 1.

When they arrived, officers found evidence of the shooting in the parking lot and bullet impacts on the building and a Redbox movie rental station outside the business.

According to police, a dark colored SUV approached a man standing outside a silver Toyota Camry. A passenger got out of the SUV and began firing at the man standing next to the Camry.

Everyone involved, including the intended target, left before officers arrived. It doesn’t appear anyone was injured in the shooting, police said.

Police would like to talk to a person who can be seen on video surveillance footage. He’s considered a person of interest. Investigators continue to examine the evidence collected at the scene, including the video.

Anyone with information should contact Detective-Sergeant Jesse Ceja at 209-827-2507.
