The rain has stopped and the Daytona 500 can finally get underway without weather interruptions Monday afternoon.
After a two-hour rain delay Sunday postponed the Great American Race, the Daytona 500 will resume in the 21st lap at 4:05 p.m. (FOX) with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. still leading the field. He was in pole position to begin the race.

President Donald Trump was the Grand Marshal on Sunday, but was not in attendance Monday. DAYTONA 500 LIVE UPDATES
Post-race
10:14 p.m.: Roush Fenway Racing posted a statement thanking everyone for their prayers and that Ryan Newman’s injuries are not life-threatening, but he is in serious condition.
Stage 3
8:07 p.m.: Newman is being transported to a local hospital, according to FOX.
7:55 p.m., CHECKERED FLAG: Denny Hamlin wins his second straight Daytona 500. Ryan Newman was involved in a violent crash shortly before.
7:40, overtime: About 6 seconds into overtime, another caution happened. Clint Boyer, Justin Haley and Michael McDowell playing bumper cars. We’ll go to another overtime.
7:27 p.m., red flag: Race will head to overtime.
7:19 p.m., Lap 197: Another red flag. This race just can’t catch a break. Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain all involved in this. Ryan Preece bumped Chastain into the apron, and he lost control, coming back into the field. Christopher Bell took some damage. We’ll add video when we get one.
7:10 p.m., Lap 193: Another caution as the the Nos. 66 (Timmy Hill) and 27 (Reed Sorensen) cars collide. Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 88, also appears out.
7:05 p.m., Lap 188: Only 22 cars left in the field. Spring to the finish.
6:43 p.m., Lap 184: This is the big one. Joey Logano bumped Aric Almirola into Brad Keselowski toward the front of the pack, which set off a chain reaction. Most of the field crashed behind them, including Jimmie Johnson and Martin Truex Jr.
6:41 p.m., Lap 182: Kyle Busch is down on the apron. Had some tire issues when bumped into the wall.
6:33 p.m., Lap 173: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has trouble in turn 4, spun out by Erik Jones. That threw up his car’s hood, but he makes it to pit road. No caution.
6:30 p.m., Lap 169: Half the field hit pit road for their final stops, including Joey Logano, who had been leading, and Kyle Busch.
6:24 p.m., Lap 162: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. goes to pit road as a pass-through a penalty for going below the yellow line. All cars will pit one more time, including Stenhouse during a green flag.
6:12 p.m., Lap 147: Cars will have to pit one more time before the race is over. Kyle Busch is in the lead, followed by Denny Hamlin. Rookie Christopher Bell in third.
6 p.m., Lap 135: Third stage begins with penalties on Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick. Elliott left pit road with his fuel can still attached, which Martin Truex Jr. ran over on pit road. Kyle Harvick was penalized for entering pit road too soon.
Stage 2
5:55 p.m., Lap 130: End of Stage 2: Hamlin remains in the lead to take 10 stage points. He is followed by Busch, Stenhouse, Truex, and Chastain.
5:44 p.m., Lap 117: Drivers in the front drop to single-file, but the top-five order remains.
5:39 p.m., Lap 111: Hamlin leads Stenhouse, Busch, Truex and Chastain on the bottom. Elliott and Keselowski ride on the outside.
5:32 p.m., Lap 100: Race reaches the halfway point and is considered official.
5:28 p.m., Lap 95: Chevys (led by Stenhouse), Fords (led by Logano) and Toyotas (led by Hamlin) now all vying for the front. Hamlin leads.
5:17 p.m., Lap 90: CRASH! Open driver Houff crashed out, along with McLeod, while running in the 28th and 36th place, respectively. Drivers enter their fourth caution.
5:10 p.m., Lap 81: Joe Gibbs Racing drivers remain in the front on the inside lane, while Team Penske leads on the outside lane, with Keselowski out front. Fords fall to the back of the pack.
5:02 p.m., Lap 70: Toyotas push to the front. Hamlin, Custer, Truex Jr. lead at the green flag.
Stage 1
4:51 p.m., Lap 65: End of Stage 1: Elliott, Bowman, Almirola, Logano and Johnson lead the stage and will get the most points.
4:42 p.m., Lap 59: CRASH! Stenhouse and Byron make contact, and Bryon spins into the infield barrier and is out of the Daytona 500. Caution after Byron crashes.
4:31 p.m., Lap 47: Hendrick Motorsports cars move to the front. It’s Elliott, Johnson, Bowman and Byron run in a line out front. Other Chevrolets follow (Stenhouse and Dillon).
4:26 p.m., Lap 40: Almirola leads the inside lane, while Newman leads the outside lane. Fords still out front.
4:23 p.m., Lap 36: Ford leads the pack, with Keseloski out front. Stenhouse Jr. makes a move to the front and shuffles between the top five, along with Newman and Almirola.
4:17 p.m.: Green is given and cars run three-wide almost immediately. Bowman, Johnson and Harvick at the front.
4:15 p.m.: NASCAR calls Jimmie Johnson, Brad Keselowski, Timmy Hill and LaJoie to the back of the pack for the restart for violations.
4:11 p.m.: More than half the cars pit.
Monday pre-race
4:02 p.m.: The President of Daytona International Speedway Chip Wile counts down fans in attendance to give the command to start engines. The command is given.
3:57 p.m.: Five minutes until the command and drivers are in their rides.
3:43 p.m.: Cars are on the track and ready to go. Fans will give the command to start engines at 4:02 p.m. as a “thank you” for staying, according to Daytona International Speedway.
3:14 p.m.: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (yesterday’s leader and pole-sitter) was the first car onto the track. Crews continue rolling out their cars to cheers. Attendance is significantly lower today. Earlier in the afternoon, NASCAR’s Vice President of Strategy and Development Eric Nyquist greets fans at the entrance and thanks them for returning.
2:30 p.m.: The current temperature at Daytona Beach is 73 degrees with no rain expected throughout the day. The skies are clear with a partly cloudy forecast given by the National Weather Service. Crews use the sun to dry their gear soaked from yesterday.
Stage 1 (Sunday)
6:50 p.m. Sunday, POSTPONED: NASCAR announces the Daytona 500 is postponed until Monday. The race will resume at Lap 21 at 4:05 p.m.
6:44 p.m. Sunday, DELAY: Heavy rains at the speedway will likely delay the race until Monday.
6:33 p.m. Sunday, DELAY: Drivers are called back to their cars.
6:17 p.m. Sunday, DELAY: Drivers are told to uncover cars, but almost immediately more sprinkles come down.
5:11 p.m Sunday, DELAY: A Daytona International Speedway official estimates it will take at least 1.5 hours for the crew to dry the track.
4:36 p.m. Sunday, Lap 21: Caution for rain, followed by a red flag. Cars return to pit road, drivers exit their cars and the DIS crew returns to dry the track.
4:31 p.m. Sunday, Lap 16: Stenhouse, Logano, Almirola, Newman, Harvick remain in the lead. Toyotas (Jones, Truex, Bowyer and Bowman) run together at the end of the field. They fall back after the field runs two cars wide in the second lap.
4:20 p.m. Sunday: The green flag is waved and the race starts. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. starts on the pole driving the No. 47 Chevrolet for JTG Daugherty. Alex Bowman starts second in the No. 88 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports.
